Director DMPK

Director DMPK

OMass Therapeutics is an early-stage drug discovery company, applying its unique OdyssION™ technology platform, which comprises novel biochemistry techniques, next-generation native mass spectrometry, and custom chemistry, to discover small molecule therapeutics for rare diseases and immunological conditions.

The company was founded by Professor Dame Carol Robinson to leverage her pioneering work in native mass spectrometry, in studies of dynamic protein assemblies, to characterise challenging drug targets including membrane proteins. With state-of-the-art laboratories OMass is able to perform high resolution native mass spectrometry, pharmacological studies, chemical computational analysis and more recently structure determination, including crystallography and cryo-EM. The high resolution of our biophysical platform offers an unprecedented advantage in the detection of drug leads. The company vision is to build an integrated drug discovery company, with the ambition to develop and ultimately commercialise our products.

Headquartered in Oxford, UK, OMass has raised over $150M (£119M) from a top-tier international investor syndicate, including Syncona, Oxford Science Enterprises, GV, Northpond Ventures, and Sanofi Ventures. This is an excellent time to join our dynamic growing company.

OMass Therapeutics is recruiting a Director DMPK to report to the VP Medicinal Chemistry. As a key member of the OMass R&D leadership team, the Director DMPK will work closely with Medicinal Chemistry, Bioscience, Pharmacology and senior leadership as well as our proprietary MS platform technology leaders to provide DMPK leadership in the design, implementation and analysis of nonclinical DMPK studies. In this role the Director DMPK will direct the activities of CROs to conduct in vitro and in vivo DMPK/ADME studies, supporting multiple projects across different therapeutic areas, from lead identification and optimisation phases through to candidate selection. The Director DMPK will contribute to the preparation of nonclinical DMPK reports and relevant components of regulatory submissions to help drive project advancement into clinical development. The principal place of work is flexible, however, candidate should have flexibility to travel as required by the business. This is expected to include regular on-site time in Oxford. The company offers a collaborative and innovative environment for a well-suited candidate to become an integral part of our future vision.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing and dynamic company operating at the cutting edge in drug discovery technology to develop disease modifying medicines for patients.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline with significant and demonstrable experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry including comprehensive understanding of DMPK science with additional knowledge of related disciplines and extensive experience of DMPK from pre-clinical to first in human.
