About Healx
Healx’s goal is to use its AI platform to accelerate the discovery of 100 rare disease treatments by 2025. Healx works closely with patient advocacy groups and charities to initiate drug discovery programmes and progress treatments through to clinical development and commercialisation.
This autumn, Healx is initiating a new collaboration scheme, under which patient groups will be able to apply to work with Healx on an AI-driven drug discovery programme for their rare disease of interest. Healx is looking for a Drug Discovery Alliance Manager (maternity cover), reporting to the Head of Business Development, to manage all aspects of Healx’s relationships with charities and help launch this new initiative.
Duties to include:
Manage a portfolio of Healx’s alliances with charities, working with colleagues to ensure the objectives of external partnerships are achieved.
Coordinate new collaboration scheme applications to including:
Be the main point of contact for applicants including communication of feedback from the review process and nurturing of future relationships with Healx
Manage the application process through two rounds of in-house review and final project selection
Collate relevant information for reviewing applications from Healx’s cross-functional teams of scientific curators, pharmacologists and commercial experts
Structure, negotiate and establish collaboration agreements with new patient groups, working closely with the Head of Business Development
Advise patient groups on the drug discovery process, including intellectual property, preclinical experimentation, clinical trials and regulation
Create and deliver presentations to patient advocacy groups and other external parties about Healx, rare diseases, drug discovery and partnerships/collaborations
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred Ph.D. or Masters degree in life sciences, such as biology, genetics or pharmacology
At least 2 years of experience in partnering/managing alliances in life sciences, e.g. in a tech transfer office, medical research charity, biotech or pharma company
Experience with legal agreements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent business acumen along with science communication and personal relationship skills
