Working in a hybrid approach and based out of our London office, you will be the visible leader and advocate of the Project Management Office (PMO) within LifeArc.

You will lead on shaping the strategic direction, influence, and impact of portfolio, programme, and project management across the organisation.
In this role you will work closely and in partnership with our Translational Challenge (TC) and other senior leaders, responsible for ensuring LifeArc’s strategic ambitions are translated into well-crafted and achievable operational plans. This will include supporting the Chief Project and Portfolio Officer (CPPO) in the active management of the Translational Challenges portfolio.

You will also ensure effective project management resource, processes and systems are applied across the entire company including projects enabling scientific research, funding of partners, IT and business change.

Lead and coach a team of TC Managers and Project Managers ensuring consistent best practice is applied in the management of our TC portfolios.

A bit about you:
• Strong background in science, with substantial experience of project management in the life-sciences industry at both a strategic and operational level (>10 years)
• Practical experience of deploying project management systems, tools and templates to support project teams, especially relating to operational planning, resource
and budget allocation and portfolio tracking
• Outstanding planning and organising skills with ability to set clear expectations, drive accountability and the tenacity to drive projects to conclusion
• Ability to critically and objectively interpret and evaluate scientific and business-related information, and challenge assumptions
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment
• Experience of managing direct and indirect reports through periods of organisational change
• Educated to post-graduate level in a relevant biomedical discipline
• Certified project/portfolio manager (e.g. PMP; Prince 2)

Our London office:
Our modern London office is located with Tavistock Square on our doorstep. Our technology transfer and charity teams, along with the opportunity assessment group and enabling functions are mostly located at our London office.
