We're looking for a skilled data manager to oversee impact reporting on EMBL-EBI's open biological data resources. This role offers the opportunity to engage with data resource teams across the Institute, understanding and quantifying the impact of their valuable work and communicating this to external stakeholders. The Strategic Project Management Office is one of the central support teams for EMBL-EBI senior management. The team provides key input into Institute-wide projects and strategy, including impact assessment.
Your role
Reporting to the Head of the Strategic Project Management Office, you will be responsible for developing an Institute wide view of EMBL-EBI impact through the collation, interpretation and visualisation of key indicators. This includes:

identifying, defining and tracking the benefits of EMBL-EBI's activities in key scientific communities and themes
identifying improvements to current operational data collection procedures to gain relevant information
analysing and assuring data
presenting the analysis in the form of reports and board papers internally and to external funders

You have
You have achieved a degree or advanced degree in a highly numerical subject. Your previous experience of working with senior management, key stakeholders and research funders has equipped you with the essential skills required to convert complex information into reports and board papers, highlighting key elements clearly and concisely. With advanced interpersonal and communication skills, you are confident to challenge current practices in a constructive way and get buy-in to change. You bring a positive, solution-oriented approach to team working. Excellent organisation skills are essential as the role will require you to manage your time effectively and prioritize your work. The role requires intermediate/advanced Excel skills and excellent spoken and written English.
