Our client is a corporate venture capital company as an affiliate of a privately-owned global life science group. The leadership is experienced in the operational management of life science companies and specifically on the development, manufacturing and marketing of prescription pharmaceuticals and in vitro clinical diagnostic tests on a worldwide basis.
The Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Managing Director and Investment Committee in the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of new biotech investment opportunities (pharmaceutical and diagnostic testing companies)
In addition, the role holder will work on the ongoing evaluation of existing portfolio companies for follow-on investments or periodic reporting purposes.
The Analyst will obtain and interpret company management, scientific and development programme information to help the investment team make investment decisions. In addition, the Analyst will assist with company and market research, preparation of investment memos and other written materials, due diligence, and other tasks that arise in the course of business.
The role requires a science background; proficiency in basic financial concepts as well as office skills especially Excel is a must. It could be a new graduate although previous biotech investment fund or technology transfer experience is a plus. Excellent communications skill verbally and in writing are needed along with good attention to detail. The role demands a team player who is curious and has a love of learning.
