Organic Chemist

Biocrucible is developing a class-leading molecular diagnostic platform based on its proprietary isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology. This platform has the potential to offer rapid results with PCR-like levels of sensitivity and specificity but in a fully-disposable format usable by both consumers at home and also in low-resource environments. The acquisition by Sapphiros in July 2021 has provided further investment and operational support to accelerate this next-generation platform to market.

We are looking for an innovative organic chemist to synthesize and characterize DNA oligonucleotides with novel functionalities. You will apply bioconjugate techniques and methods for the characterization and purification of biomolecules. The role will be working alongside the lead chemist and a small broader team of molecular biologists as we further develop our cutting-edge technology.

You will be a Chemistry graduate or PhD graduate with the desire to work in a small team playing a significant role in the success of the business. You will be working creatively with an understanding of the plan for commercialisation of the company’s products.

The kick-off stage for interviews will be a two-way conversation about the role and the company. The role is currently based at Chesterford Research Park, expansion means further locations are being reviewed.
