My client is an innovative pharmaceutical research organisation, which is actively engaged in a suite of services in translational drug discovery and development. Working in their state-of-the-art facilities in London they run innovative and dynamic research programs which include the labelling of novel PET ligands/tracers and to support drug discovery and development.
Due to continued growth and development, they are looking to hire an experienced Production Manager – Radiochemicals. The Production Manager – Radiochemiccals principal accountabilities are to effectively manage activities and resources in the Production area, in a safe and compliant manner, to support research & development and clinical activities.
The Role of Production Manager – Radiochemicals will include;
- Manage, guide and support a team of Production Chemists
- Training new members of staff
- Ensuring day-to-day running of the Production laboratories
- Supporting distribution activities of radiotracers externally
- Managing radiotracer implementation projects
- Driving on-going review of existing processes and implement solutions to improve and consolidate operational efficiency
- Diagnosing faults on Production equipment and organising repair as required
- Overseeing Production equipment preventive maintenance programme
- Maintaining Production equipment and radiotracers validated
- Deputising for the Head of Chemistry, when required.
- Qualifications and skills required for the Production Manager – Radiochemicals role:
A BSc/MSc Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Strong experience in PET radiochemistry and process automation
- Preferably, experience of working with short-lived radioisotopes (Especially Carbon-11 and Fluorine 18)
- Good understanding of relevant UK legislation and regulations
- Excellent Communication and Team working skills
- Previous people management experience
