Would you like to work for a well-funded Biotech developing the next generation of oncology therapeutics?

My client are a well-funded Biotechnology company working within oncology therapeutics, using novel Immuno-Oncology and Immuno-inflammation approaches to drug discovery and development. Due to on-going funding and continued growth, they are looking to expand their Target Discovery Team by hiring a Research Immunologist - Target Identification to work on target identification and validation.

The Research Immunologist - Target Identification will bring a passion for immunology and relevant experience in its application in discovering new medicines. The Research Immunologist - Target Identification will be part of a focussed laboratory based team, working to identify, validate and develop new therapeutic targets, the team’s focus on delivery will drive quick decision making and rapid inclusion of high-quality targets to the discovery pipeline. The Research Immunologist - Target Identification will also assist in developing new assays that are to be used in the validation of new drug discovery targets and in supporting pipeline projects.

Specific Responsibilities of the Research Immunologist - Target Identification will include;

Lab based experimental work for in-house target validation, including generating novel hypotheses and designing experiments to validate targets for modulation of immune cell function.
Analysis and interpretation of data, and put this into context of wider work being performed within the project and field/literature.
Responsible for developing in vitro assays relevant to autoimmune, inflammatory or oncology diseases.

To be considered for the Research Immunologist - Target Identification role you’ll need the following skills and experience;

PhD in immunology or a related discipline, or postgraduate qualification with significant working experience within immunology.
Highly experienced in in vitro immunology assays including isolating, differentiating, culturing and profiling human adaptive or innate immune cells.
Hands-on experience with standard immunological techniques including immunoassays and flow cytometry, including experience with the associated software packages and analysis tools (e.g. FlowJo).
Ability to creatively apply a variety of scientific concepts to solve complex problems
Can-do attitude and team player with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
A background in any of the following - small molecule drug discovery, inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, immunometabolism/cellular metabolism, or immno-oncology, would be an advantage.
