You will join a growing research team within this innovative and expanding company.
Your primary responsibilities will be to support the validation of targeted therapies and disease positioning biomarkers using Artios’ small molecule experimental medicines. The successful candidate will be joining the disease positioning team and will use cutting-edge technology to run cell-based experiments to explore the potential of Artios drugs as monotherapy or in combination with chemotherapeutic drugs in cancer cell lines of various tissue types and genetic backgrounds. You will also contribute to identifying and characterise biomarkers of sensitivity for patient selection across Artios’ drug discovery projects. Working with a dynamic team in a matrixed environment you will need to input into project strategy and delivery while being the main interface with experienced and highly skilled scientist colleagues or external CRO.

Experience required:

• Proven track record in the DNA damage response and repair field
• Experience in cancer drug discovery
• Experience working in an industrial setting will be a distinct advantage

Essential skills and abilities:

• Experience in cancer cellular and molecular biology techniques including cell culture, cell viability, proliferation assays, Western blotting and flow cytometry
• Specific expertise in mechanistic DNA damage and repair biology and assays such as Comet assays, DNA fiber labelling, cell cycle and repair foci imaging
• Understanding of molecular oncology and drug discovery fields
• Ability to ‘troubleshoot’ experiments independently
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Desirable skills:

• Ability to work independently in an organised and methodical fashion
• High level of IT literacy
• Flexible approach to change

Qualifications required:

• Ph.D. in a life science subject or equivalent experience within an industrial setting
