Senior Contracts Manager - Research and Innovation

Overview

We have a full-time vacancy for a suitable candidate to join our Joint Research Management Office. This is a central office which supports all research undertaken in Queen Mary University and Bart’s Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will be a member of the Costing and Contracts team working closely with the Head of Costing and Contracts and the Heads of Services within JRMO for a wide range of contractual negotiations. The Research & Innovation Senior Contracts Manager (RISCM) will take a leading role in the delivery of an effective and efficient service for the management of research contracts for QMUL’s three faculties and Bart’s Health NHS Trust. The RISCM will provide expert guidance on the management on research contracts for academic and professional service staff across QMUL and Bart’s Health NHS Trust. They will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and authorising signature of research contracts, with agreed service levels determined by the Head of Costing and Contracts. Supporting the wider Research and Innovation directorate, providing expert advice on the drafting of legal agreements. The post reports to the Head of Costing and Contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background. They must have excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills and demonstrate a strong team-work ethic. This role demands the holder to work on their own initiative and can manage several projects at once. Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.

The role is a full-time permanent position based at Department W, Mile End, London. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £51,048 - £56,921 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
