Currently, we have an opening for a Research Technologist position in our Cambridge facility. This position will be responsible for testing and analysis of media, surface materials, and substrates that support human pluripotent stem cell and organoid cultures. This work will include the development of new products, testing and improvement of existing products and evaluation of competing products. The Research Technologist will be responsible for product documentation, data analysis and reporting, troubleshooting experiments, literature reviews and some experimental design including controls and alternative read-outs. They will be responsible for maintaining written records of laboratory procedures, experimental results and all lab work according to company standards. The work schedule for the Research Technologist role will require availability to work weekends.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing all experiments designed with supervisor input, including establishing novel technologies and working in new products development

Performs data analysis and calculations independently

Troubleshoots experiments identifies abnormal or unexpected trends in data

Presents data at R&D data meetings, provides conclusions and future plans

Validates new products and new product components

Performs literature reviews, discusses relevance to product design with supervisor

Provides technical support (product use, protocols) for QC and Manufacturing as needed Supports Quality initiatives

Occasional weekend work (Saturday and/or Sunday) may be required.

Qualifications:

BSc in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or related field; Master degree is a plus

Trained in working under aseptic conditions (mammalian cell culture)

Some experience with hPSC or organoid cultures is an asset

Skilled in a wide range of laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation

Experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques including quantitative PCR, immunocytochemistry, microscopy, immunoblotting, transfection, and flow cytometry is an asset

Works well in a team

Excellent written and communication skills

Good verbal communication both in one on one and in a group setting.
