Sr Scientist, Nanoparticle Development

Join us as Senior Scientist, Nanoparticle Development at our Cambridge, UK site to expand and mature our growing metabolic and respiratory RNA-based therapeutics pipeline.

In this position, you will be responsible for the following:

Develop, optimize and assess nanoparticle formulations for nucleic acid therapeutics’ delivery applications, specifically using lipid nanoparticles, as well as other modalities.
Tailor LNP formulation solutions to diverse types of payloads, functionalized moieties, and nanoparticle properties as defined by the target organ.
Design and conduct analytical experiments to characterise nanoparticles
Design and perform HPLC method development and validation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug delivery projects tailored to a variety of routes of administrations (e.g., intranasal, nebulization, IV and/or SC), target organs, PK and PD requirements
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior cross-functional team members
Contribute to the writing of methods, SOPs, scientific papers and patent applications
Present routinely at team meetings and company-wide settings
Effectively resolve scientific and technical challenges using knowledge and subject matter expertise/ experience to enable program progression

What you will bring to the table:

PhD in Nanoparticle Science, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field
At least two years of experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory setting: a must
Extensive experience in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, particularly with lipid nanoparticles
Experience in method development and validation, e.g., using HPLC
Experience working in a Quality Assurance environment
Experience in organic synthesis is a plus
Experience in drug delivery research is a plus
