Management Essentials is a development programme aimed at helping new line managers: -
➢ To understand and appreciate the role of the manager and their responsibilities throughout the employee life cycle
➢ To build capability and confidence in practicing four core manager skills that are key to applying the Situational Leadership model; feedback, coaching, delegating and closing gaps in performance
➢ To learn ways to motivate and engage their staff effectively, delivering against company objectives, team goals and performance objectives
➢ To appreciate their role in getting work done successfully through others by using the principles of continuous performance management
➢ To raise self-awareness and apply insights gained through the completion of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator: to identify new management approaches and strategies beyond default styles
➢ To enable managers to conduct effective 1:1s, coach and develop their staff in order for them to reach their full potential
➢ To begin the process of transferring learning and expanding management behaviours through follow-up learning groups and 1:1 coaching
