Following the success of three previous events of a similar format, the Anglia Innovation Partnership (AIP) team, the science park management company, at Norwich Research Park will continue to hold enterprise showcase events throughout 2024 to demonstrate the strength of enterprise, innovation, research and collaboration across the campus that has been delivered through the ongoing campus-wide enterprise strategy.
The previous event held in November 2023 organised in collaboration with the UEA and Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence, was an enormous success, with an exciting format including the ‘Hothouse Innovation Competition’, which included pitch-style presentations from entrepreneurs on campus to compete for mentorship, a cash prize and a free year of virtual tenancy at Norwich Research Park.
The next of these events will be titled ‘Problem Solving Through Collaboration’ and will feature recent examples of the collaborative work that the AIP team has supported, across the research campus, with industry, and explain the benefits of this type of collaborative working.
and will be held on the 5th March, 2024 at the John Innes Conference Centre on Norwich Research Park and will run from 13:30 to 18:00. The event is open to all, and the AIP team wants to encourage anyone unfamiliar with the park who is interested in learning more the great work here to attend.
The afternoon will have an exciting format in two halves. The first part will include presentations from speakers working in research or business across the Norwich Research Park community, all focused on how the campus is driving collaboration and demonstrating how this has been successful with case study examples.
The second half of the agenda is an interactive panel discussion focusing on preventative medicine, early intervention, and healthy aging. Panel members include research park leaders in this field; Professor Anne-Marie Minihane, Director of the Norfolk Institute of Healthy Aging (NIHA) and Professor Martin Warren, Chief Scientific Officer of the Quadram Institute, and external experts: Dr Tony Jones, CEO of One Nucleus and Dr Pedro de Noronha Pissarra, CEO of Chrysealabs.
We are delighted that Dr Stella Peace, Executive Director for Healthy Living and Agriculture, Innovate UK, will be providing our keynote presentation which will outline how Innovate UK supports business led innovation in all sectors, and technologies.
Between the sessions there will be a large break, providing an opportunity to network with refreshments, which has been very successful in previous events, providing a great way to build connections with other people working in the community and find out more about the park in general.
This event is kindly sponsored by Marks & Clerk LLP. Marks & Clerk is a leading intellectual property firm providing advice to clients on all aspects of IP.
