Raft of promotions at Reddie & Grose

London, Friday 1ST April 2022: Reddie & Grose LLP, the internationally renowned firm of European and United Kingdom patent, trade mark and design attorneys, has today announced a raft of promotions including the creation of two new Partners and a number of Senior Associates. These promotions, which take effect from 1 April 2022, recognise the talent and expertise in patent law across a range of market sectors, including medical devices & digital healthcare.
Reddie & Grose is comprised of attorneys with specialist knowledge and expertise in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, engineering, cleantech, instrumentation, medical device, materials, and software related inventions.

The new partners are: 
Georgina Ainscow 
Georgina joined Reddie & Grose in 2015 having entered the profession in 2002, and worked as a partner at another London based firm of patent attorneys for five years. Georgina works patent cases in the fields of physics, engineering, electronics, software and business methods. Her specialisms include the video coding, telecommunications and optical device fields and she has a particular interest in hearing implant design. Georgina sits in the Electrical, Electronics & Software team and is a member of the Energy & Renewables group. She was awarded Rising Star by Managing Intellectual Property in 2018.
She has represented a number of UK based companies, providing advice in relation to all aspects of patent protection, patent portfolio management, and IP strategy, including a UK-based company specialising in the design and manufacture of AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies, and a company specialising in innovative leak detection sealing techniques for the oil and gas industry.
Georgina is also the editor of the firms Energy & Renewables newsletter, Sustainable Future: Exploring innovations for the Energy Transition and Circular Economy. Outside work, Georgina enjoys undertaking overly ambitious craft projects with her two small children.

Zack Mummery 
Zack joined Reddie & Grose in 2011 after obtaining a first class MSci degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and qualified as a European and UK Patent Attorney in 2015. Zack assists large multinational corporations, SMEs and start-ups operating at the cutting edge of chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies. Zack has a wealth of experience drafting new patent applications and managing large patent portfolios covering developed and emerging markets. Zack regularly provides clear commercially focussed advice on patent strategies, utilising patent protection and managing the risk posed by third party patent rights.
Zack sits in the Life Sciences team and is a member of the Chemistry & Materials and Digital Healthcare group.
Zack has a particular interest in the proposed new European unitary patent system and outside work he is a keen climber.

The new senior associates are:
Stephen Lupini 
Stephen joined Reddie & Grose in 2018, having previously worked at another London-based firm of patent attorneys. Stephen handles patent work in the mechanical, electrical and consumer product fields. He has particular experience of working with fuel cells, medical devices, oil drilling equipment, and carbon and graphene-based technologies. Stephen sits in the Electrical, Electronics & Software team and is a member of the Energy & Renewables group.

Prior to qualifying as a patent attorney, Stephen spent over four years working in technology transfer for several academic research institutions in London. Outside work, Stephen enjoys being active and trying to play the piano.
Alex Cope 
Alex joined Reddie & Grose in the Electrical, Electronics & Software team in September 2014 having completed a Master’s degree in Physics at the University of Exeter. He handles patents within the electrical, electronics & telecoms and software & business methods fields.

Alex’s main areas of expertise include audio and video signal processing, data encryption, telecommunications and semiconductor devices. He has an interest in the renewable energy sector and has experience handling patent applications relating to solar cell power conversion and control units for wind turbines. Outside work, Alex is a keen squash player.
Adam Kelvey
Adam joined Reddie & Grose in the Engineering, Materials & Consumer Products team in September 2014 after graduating from the University of Oxford with a Master’s degree in Materials Science. He handles patents in the engineering, materials and consumer products fields.

He has a particular passion for sustainable innovation and has worked with clients involved in a number of relevant technologies including biodegradable polymers, electric vehicle powertrains, and wind turbine technology. Outside work, Adam enjoys sailing and skiing, when possible.
