About us
The Francis Crick Institute is Europe’s largest biomedical research institute under one roof. Our world-class scientists and staff collaborate on vital research to help prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, infectious diseases and neurodegenerative conditions.
The Crick is a place for collaboration, innovation and exploration across many disciplines. A space where the brightest minds can pursue big and bold ideas and discover answers to crucial scientific questions. We support them in a dynamic environment which fosters excellence with state-of-the-art infrastructure, cutting-edge facilities, and a creative and curious culture. We’ve removed traditional boundaries of departments, divisions and disciplines and instead have an open approach that supports every researcher. This gives us the freedom to take risks and carry out high-quality, pioneering research. Creating a space for discovery without boundaries helps us to turn our science into benefits for human health and the economy.
About the role
We are looking for a Scientific Asset Manager to join our Service Delivery team at the Crick.
You will play a key role in supporting Crick scientists to deliver ground-breaking research by ensuring the effective management of shared scientific equipment across the Institute. Responsible for the full asset lifecycle, from acquisition and commissioning through to maintenance, replacement and disposal, you will ensure equipment is accurately recorded, strategically planned, and maintained to maximise availability, performance and value for money.
Working closely with researchers, Science Technology Platforms and suppliers, the role combines asset management, contract oversight and data-driven planning to support the long-term sustainability of the Institute’s scientific infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and highly organised individual who enjoys working at the intersection of science, operations and strategic planning. With over 100 independent research groups and approximately 18 Science Technology Platforms relying on state-of-the-art technologies, the Scientific Asset Manager will play a vital part in enabling world-class, cutting-edge research.
If you are looking for an opportunity to apply your scientific knowledge, operational expertise and stakeholder management skills in a world-leading research institute, this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on the delivery of pioneering scientific discovery.
