Join Cambridge Network for a half-day workshop designed to help managers navigate leading teams made up of multiple generations. From Gen Z to Baby Boomers, each cohort brings their own unique strengths, values, and communication styles into the workplace. Learn how to bridge generational differences to build stronger, more collaborative, and higher-performing teams.

This event will include a keynote speaker and each participant will have the opportunity to choose between two breakout sessions which will run in tandem. You will be asked to confirm which breakout session you would like to attend when you book, and the outlines for both sessions can be found below.

Keynote:

Bridging the Gap: Leading Across Generations in the Modern Workplace

Speaker: Victor Sosanya, award-winning researcher, speaker and entrepreneur specialising in Gen Z insights and engagement.

In this session, Victor will explore:

  • How Gen Z differs from other generations in terms of core values and workplace expectations.
  • How to foster collaboration, inclusion, and trust in teams, and avoid some of the common pitfalls that can amplify generational frictions.
  • The core leadership competencies required to manage age-diverse teams with empathy and adaptability.

A. Communication Styles Across Generations

Speaker: Sheila McDerment, Business Psychologist and Consultant specialising in resilience and communication.

This session will offer valuable strategies to help you:

  • Understand the differences in communication preferences between Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.
  • Adapt your communication style to better connect with colleagues from different age groups and avoid common misunderstandings.
  • Improve communication between team members from varying age cohorts and reduce cross generational tensions.

B. One Size Doesn’t Fit All: Tailoring Benefits to Reward a Multigenerational Workforce

Speaker: James Bolton, Managing Director at EBCam.

This session will provide practical takeaways and considerations for future trends. By the end, you will:

  • Understand the core motivators of different generational groups.
  • Identify how employee benefits can be tailored to meet those needs.
  • Leave with actionable ideas for inclusive reward strategies.
