In a lengthy and complex decision reaching over 80 pages and one that will be welcomed by holders of standard essential patents (SEPs), Mr Justice Meade has given judgment in the latest in a series of trials in the UK’s Patents Court between Optis and Apple concerning Optis’ SEPs and the FRAND obligations which apply to them.
