We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the David group at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge.  Our overarching goal is to discover mechanisms that promote healthy ageing and alleviate age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Our group has uncovered mechanisms that prevent age-related protein aggregation, a major contributor to functional decline. Notably, we discovered a proteostasis network that safeguards proteins from aggregation in the extracellular space in C.

Role
As a Lab Tech/Protein Scientist you will be a critical part of our technical bioprocessing team, helping to produce alternative milk proteins. You’ll support both upstream (cloning, strain selection) fermentation and downstream (protein extraction and purification) in a fast-paced, innovation-driven lab environment.

OutSee is a techbio startup that is defining the state of the art in genomic drug target discovery. Where current methods search for correlation between genetics and disease, our AI platform Nomaly searches for the causal biological mechanisms driving the disease.

So far, the techbio industry has its tunnel vision focused on the creation of binders. By applying our technology to target identification, we are transforming a fundamental but overlooked pillar of drug development.
